Hello good day, diabetes not too bad today, and I opened my emails before and saw with a little skip in my heart an email from the ONE email I had sent with my new book to Darley Anderson. I'd written to them with my a tale of one city book. I had a rejection email then too. It said that I was an interesting writer but there wasn't a strong female character and they wouldn't be interested in it as it was. Well if that had been a we will look at it if you change it I would have done it. But they didn't. I took it well and was impressed they thought I was interesting and my writing was too. This was signed DA so I can only assume it was the guy himself. SO imagine when I wrote back to them and said same Suzy different email. This time it said that my paragraphs were too long and too heavy. They let me know because there might be an editor out there who really liked my book. I took exception to this. They had no idea of the plot, as they had only read the first few bits, and I bet they read a few lines nothing more. Plus have they ever read Harry Potter or Patricia Cornwell? I'm not saying I'm anywhere near up to their standards but their paragraphs are long and heavy too. It never stopped them did it? I object to being told this when although it was under the disguise of being a positive comment it was dismissive. I don't like being dismissed when I've put months of hard work into something. I or WE DESERVE BETTER!! Don't we?? Get in touch if you want and we can discuss rejection letters.
Hiya another day another dollar. It's quite quiet here. It really is, I can see the what are they called? That's right tumbleweed blowing through my website. Well it is only about 48 hours old so not too bad. Anyway I'm doing the thing now where I go and look at marketing websites, publishers tweets that type of thing. I had a reply from two of the biggest agencies. One wanted to change my location the second wanted me to make a woman stronger. If they'd have bothered to read on they'd have seen I have plenty of "strong women" in my books. Anyway another company called Unique or something ain't! That's for sure. They didn't even have the courtesy to read my manuscript. It's okay it's I can live with that. Let's just hope that when my books are best sellers I can go ner ner ner ner to them hey? I've been learning about my USP. Well I've always been a bit different, and have used my weirdness, uniqueness (there's that word again) to make and sell different artworks over the years. I've had limited success in writing without trying. I've put so much hard work into my books. I absolutely deserve a publisher and a big cheque. If not that a nice electronic transfer with lots of ones and twos and loads of noughts on it. That will do. I hope people start to read my blog. I have every intention of adding to it and talking to like minded people who are also trying to catch a break on Amazon or with self publishing for FREE!!!!
Hello as you can see this is pretty new. I have just released my new book The Blue Moon Detective Agency. A tale of witchcraft both good and bad. So I've been racking my brains how to promote it. I started on Facebook and I'm currently leaving messages on various FB pages where people are interested in the Occult and so on. I've taken a few liberties with my book. Lucifer's in it along with a whole host of good witches and bad witches. I'm going to embed it into my site soon. It's all new to me even though I've been using computers for erm 30 plus years. Oh God am I that old? I miss nice people you know. So let's hope I get to meet some on here. I avoid doing too many personal things on FB now. Too many trolls etc. The sad thing is my trolls are my own family. Amazing isn't it? But that's a whole other blog. So there's my idea to promote your book. Find groups who are interested in your subject for you book and leave messages on their pages. Even if one person buys your book and tells everyone how great it is. Then that's brilliant isn't it? I hope I can keep this up and I get some visitors and people who will comment. That would be great.
Hello all you seasoned writers and experts in the field. I hope you'll bear with me while I catch up with you all. It's crazy this design of website because basically it says me me me. Anyway this is my first blog experience even though I've been using the web since the early 1990s. Which is amazing really. God who remembers dial up? It took me three days to download a Jackie Chan advert from Hong Kong. Not joking. We have a fair bit to contend with now with cyber crime but at least there's no porn diallers running up £1000's in bills. I remember when I had one after my kids had downloaded some crappy game years ago. I was working on a painting and I could hear my PC tower clicking away like it was connecting. Guess what? It blooming well was. I managed to stop it before it got past £40! I was furious and rang NTHELL who I was with. Oh that was fun installing my own internet, upgrading my PC to an ethernet connection because they'd put one in instead of the USB one I'd asked for. Thank God I learnt how to build a PC. Anyway I'm digressing. I've already written a lot about me so now it's time to think about what I'm doing and where I'm going. I released my latest book The Silent Moon Detective Agency a few days ago. It's on Amazon Kindle and it's subtitled A tale of witchcraft both good and bad. I enjoyed writing it, edited lots and I hope I get some people to buy it. it's free to download if you have a kindle subscription. Well this is a brand new site and a brand new blog. I hope to get visitors coming to see me and discussions to follow. I've done it all myself as I said so if there's faults forgive me. I love learning and this is exactly that. Learning to blog, and promote my books. Ooh what an adventure.
