Hello good day, diabetes not too bad today, and I opened my emails before and saw with a little skip in my heart an email from the ONE email I had sent with my new book to Darley Anderson. I'd written to them with my a tale of one city book. I had a rejection email then too. It said that I was an interesting writer but there wasn't a strong female character and they wouldn't be interested in it as it was. Well if that had been a we will look at it if you change it I would have done it. But they didn't. I took it well and was impressed they thought I was interesting and my writing was too. This was signed DA so I can only assume it was the guy himself. SO imagine when I wrote back to them and said same Suzy different email. This time it said that my paragraphs were too long and too heavy. They let me know because there might be an editor out there who really liked my book. I took exception to this. They had no idea of the plot, as they had only read the first few bits, and I bet they read a few lines nothing more. Plus have they ever read Harry Potter or Patricia Cornwell? I'm not saying I'm anywhere near up to their standards but their paragraphs are long and heavy too. It never stopped them did it? I object to being told this when although it was under the disguise of being a positive comment it was dismissive. I don't like being dismissed when I've put months of hard work into something. I or WE DESERVE BETTER!! Don't we?? Get in touch if you want and we can discuss rejection letters.
Hello all you seasoned writers and experts in the field. I hope you'll bear with me while I catch up with you all. It's crazy this design of website because basically it says me me me. Anyway this is my first blog experience even though I've been using the web since the early 1990s. Which is amazing really. God who remembers dial up? It took me three days to download a Jackie Chan advert from Hong Kong. Not joking. We have a fair bit to contend with now with cyber crime but at least there's no porn diallers running up £1000's in bills. I remember when I had one after my kids had downloaded some crappy game years ago. I was working on a painting and I could hear my PC tower clicking away like it was connecting. Guess what? It blooming well was. I managed to stop it before it got past £40! I was furious and rang NTHELL who I was with. Oh that was fun installing my own internet, upgrading my PC to an ethernet connection because they'd put one in instead of the USB one I'd asked for. Thank God I learnt how to build a PC. Anyway I'm digressing. I've already written a lot about me so now it's time to think about what I'm doing and where I'm going. I released my latest book The Silent Moon Detective Agency a few days ago. It's on Amazon Kindle and it's subtitled A tale of witchcraft both good and bad. I enjoyed writing it, edited lots and I hope I get some people to buy it. it's free to download if you have a kindle subscription. Well this is a brand new site and a brand new blog. I hope to get visitors coming to see me and discussions to follow. I've done it all myself as I said so if there's faults forgive me. I love learning and this is exactly that. Learning to blog, and promote my books. Ooh what an adventure.
